I’m an ad dad with 20+ years of globe-trotting, 360º creative experience. I’m a writer, director, client whisperer, team builder, and results deliverer. Along the way, I’ve won a few shiny objects, like Lions, Clios, Webbys, Addys and Pencils. I’ve worked for agencies like McCann, R/GA, BBDO, Leo Burnett (London), and Jung von Matt (Hamburg) for clients like Nike, Verizon, State Street Investment Management, Cigna, Coca-Cola, GE, and Microsoft. When I’m not making ads, I’m busy being a dad, riding my bike, or acting/doing improv on a stage somewhere.

Freelance CD @Mr. Brown Creative NYC + London + Hamburg (2001 to Present)

• Sought-after, award-winning creative who builds teams, wins pitches and delivers breakthrough 360º work for agencies and in-house for brands. Built teams, won pitches, created campaigns.

• Clients: State Street, Cigna, BMW, PwC, NY Rangers, New York Times, Varsity Brands, Jim Beam, Visa, Miramax Films, Riverkeeper.

SVP GCD @McCann NYC (2014 to 2024)

• Helped build and manage the customized creative team dedicated to Microsoft.

• Ran two of the agencies biggest clients with annual billing over $100 million.

• Clients: Microsoft, Verizon, State Street Investment Management, Nespresso, Lysol and TGI Fridays.

• Awards: One Show Penta Pencil, for an agency and brand (Microsoft) who together created stellar work for five years.

GCD @Jung von Matt Hamburg (2011 to 2013)

• Built and managed a 25-person, 360º team of international creatives from scratch and auf Deutsch.

• Won new business pitches for Coca-Cola, Philips and Mattel, creating ongoing work streams and increasing agency revenue.

• First "auslandler" CD to work across Jung von Matt agencies on global brands, presenting the agency's first-ever Super Bowl ads for Mercedes.

• Clients: Coca-Cola, Philips, Mattel, Mercedes, Sixt, RWE, Hamburger Sparkasse.

VP ACD @BBDO NYC (2008 to 2011)

• Worked on 360 marketing campaigns for some of the agency’s biggest clients.

• Writer/director credits for NFL/Monster webisodes and Save The Children web documentaries.

• Clients: Monster.com, Save the Children, GE, Pepsi and AT&T.  

• Awards: Webby, Addy.

ACD @R/GA NYC (2004 to 2008)

• Copy lead on Nike Football, Running and Nike+.

• Worked with Nike and Apple to launch a revolution in wearable tech.

• Writer/director credits on multiple Nike campaign videos.

• Clients: Nike, Avaya, Lowe’s, Bank of America, Verizon.

• Awards: Cannes Lion, One Show, D&AD Clio, NY Addy

Senior Copywriter @Leo Burnett London (2001 to 2002)

• Built the copy department for Leo Burnett’s digital design team in London from scratch.

• Clients: Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Laughing Cow, McCains, Revels, Tetley, Thresher. Pitch win: Catsan.

• Awards: London International Advertising Award, Cannes Cyber Lion shortlist.

Other roles. Copy Director for Dennis Interactive, where I established the copy department for a 60-person digital content shop. Communications Director for an integrated, 50-person design firm. Marketing Coordinator at Scholastic, Inc to launch a bilingual (Spanish) K-6 classroom literacy program and a Bilingual Elementary Teacher at P.S. 59 in the Bronx with Teach for America.
